Common Auth (rel) Basically complete. A mechanism for departments to authenticate users with the ISO password is in place. Documentation (MTURFCs) is being developed. This was for the authentication part of this project. The Campus Auth Group recommends that a new top ten item be proposed for development of campus standards on Authorization. 2. Better Method for DNS Requests (Myles) Per Telcom this is completed with the understanding that the MTUNET system will continue to evolve and be enhanced. 3. Charter Peering (rel) Per Telcom: "Status with Charter is unchanged" 4. Departmental Natting (rel) DCS report indicates: "investigated, not completed". Telcom report indicates that telcom staff are involved in this with DCS. 5. Campus VPN Server (rel) Per DCS: "design is completed, funding is being pursued" 6. Replication of Auth/Authen at Department Level (Myles) This was rolled into 1. 7. Define Services IT will Provide in NOC (rel) Per DCS "Much progress has been made in this area, formal documentation will be completed by the end of summer 2004" 8. Wireless networking in public areas - not rovernet (Moore) Per Telcom: "University-wide project tabled due to current financial issues. Coordination of departmental efforts underway" 9. Central Management of Site Licenses (Moore) Per DCS: "No expansion of the current software has been undertaken" 10. Cell Phone Integration in Paging System (Myles) Per Telcom: "Technical implementaiton was done before this request was made. However CellularOne's paging system is not reliable and will not serve as a replacement for pagers"
