- example: a group of print servers connected to a failover
device that also allows for maintenance and patching without
interrupting the printing service
Filtering bridge (jamyles)
- using a filtering bridge to protect a segment of hosts on a public
network
- example: protect personal notebooks running Windows on the
departmental network
- generate firewall rules for handling SMB/CIFS, naming services,
SMTP, IMAP, etc.
NFS virtualization (jpbialas)
- making NFS work for clients on a protected network
- virtualizing the NFS service by putting NFS servers behind a network
device
