• example: a group of print servers connected to a failover device that also allows for maintenance and patching without interrupting the printing service

Filtering bridge (jamyles)

• using a filtering bridge to protect a segment of hosts on a public network
• example: protect personal notebooks running Windows on the departmental network
• generate firewall rules for handling SMB/CIFS, naming services, SMTP, IMAP, etc.

NFS virtualization (jpbialas)

• making NFS work for clients on a protected network
• virtualizing the NFS service by putting NFS servers behind a network device
